![]() ![]() A few cycles in and i'm already fighting for my life against starvation, forced to take "Cooker", a 4th dupe with no cooking skills in order to have someone man the grill and mush maker full time. This base, is "The Community Guideline"! Starting off with a Builder, Researcher and Pilot since I know I'm gonna need to leave the planet pretty quickly. Also using some QoL mods like pliers and research queue, nothing that drastically changes anything about the base game. First off, no achievement runs on this, i'm not used to hard mode enough to want to handicap myself with no coal or trying to rush carnivore. Ok so i'm off to a rocky start right away. So, the effect of traits is somewhat different in the base game than for the Classic style asteroids. Traits are tuned to base game world sizes." The ratio of the world sizes is not. The comment says: "Adjust with worldSize. It's '.9' for the DLC Terra Classic style asteroid. When I just looked at the code, Terra in the base game has '1' for the WorldTraitScale. But, that also means more polluted water or at least a different distribution of it. I know that Oceania in the DLC has swamp (not just marsh with clay, swamp with polluted dirt tiles). Terra in the DLC thus has more biome types, and for example, less clay probably, than for the base game. I would agree that the uranium is Spaced Out! content, but the abyssalite distribution may well be different since there are more biomes possible. I think there's a lot more sandstone and sand on Terra DLC than Terra in the base game, and I think Aridio DLC has more sulfur also. ![]() Sulfur exists in the base game too come to think of it on Aridio. But, some of it is igneous rock and sand, which are in the base game. Some of that I guess you can put under spaced out content. I know on Terra in the DLC, you'll find a wasteland biome. But, that also implies that you'll end up less likely to get a geyser, vent, or volcano of a particular type on your starting planet in the DLC ceteris paribus. I suppose that might be what you meant by the "spaced out content". No aluminum volcano or sulfur geyser is possible in the base game, but you might get such in the DLC Terra (or other classic asteroid). I would guess that the base game asteroids have more empty tiles in space to start since meteor strikes will pile up? I'm not sure though. Meteor showers in the base game only on the starting asteroids. There are some differences I've found in looking through them or watching. I'm still coming up with things as we go, I'm sorry for the changes. Feel free to modify the Game Settings to your liking as it won't change the seed. There isn't a scoreboard anyways and have no intention of coming up with one. You do you, use whatever you want, just don't lie about it. About Difficulty, Mods, Exploits and Sandbox mode If you want to progress, if you want to survive, you must dig your way out. ![]() There isn't even enough dirt to get all your research done. There're no water vents on your Starting Asteroid. Discussion will be kept at a minimum to keep things neat. ![]() ResultsĪt the end of the month a post will be made so that people can show others what they made and their experiences. There will be no time limit but you're encouraged to move on to the next seed on the next month. Please keep your base attempts to a single comment chain (I can't enforce this as I'm not a moderator) but feel free to edit and reply on other people's (base) comments. Make a comment in this thread detailing your progress, including screenshots, so that we can see how different people set up their base, approach the same issues, etc. The idea behind the monthly community map is to share a map seed at the beginning of every month, and get as many people as we can to start a new world with it. Hopefully next month we can coordinate better. Sadly because of lack of communication between parts the initiative for a monthly seed to share our bases became split. ![]()
